Pirouette Clean and Simple Card

CAS Black and White Standard Sized Card
I love this stamp! In July I used this image on a shabby chic card and another somewhat rustic card.  Those posts are here and here.  The card posted today is almost on the opposite end of the card making spectrum! It is clean, simple and elegant.  It was also very, very easy to make.

Ornaments Galore!

I have been busy making more Christmas ornaments.  Here are a few more...

Written instructions and pictures will be sent to anyone placing an order this month on my CTMH website or locally through me directly. Along with these projects, I am including several other project ideas for using the leftover pieces from the Avonlea Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go Kit.  The photos for these bonus projects will be posted in the next few days.  The projects do not have to be used with this kit, in fact they can be made with any of your favorite papers!
This past week feels like it was only half-finished for me. We switched cell phone providers and then had to switch again because there was no signal in our house.  Getting this resolved has taken three and a half days!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Just For You - Amethyst Monochromatic Card

CTMH Just For You Stamp Set's Sentiment in Gypsy Ink
Monochromatic cards are always fun to make because the color scheme has already been decided!  I love mixing reinker colors with Create A Shade Pearl paint to make my own glitter mist. This fun technique was used to make some CTMH Amethyst mist to spritz onto the Amethyst flower that I cut using the Silhouette Cameo.  Are you sensing an Amethyst theme? :-)

Die cuts from Silhouette Cameo in Amethyst and White Daisy
The flourish from the CTMH Love Life set was stamped on all the layers using Amethyst ink.  The sentiment was stamped with CTMH Gypsy ink.

There are a lot of CTMH Bitty Opaques Pearls on the card along with a Purple Sparkle for the center of the flower
Prior to spritzing the flower to make it shimmery, I ran each of the layers through the Cuttlebug with the Kassie's Brocade folder. This gives the flower more depth and a fun texture.

Some of the new items I have used from Close To My Heart will be available beginning February 1st!  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.

Thank you for visiting today.  I appreciate you stopping by!

Cricut Art Philosophy 3-D Honeycomb Ornament

Christmas Ornament handcrafted from double sided paper

This gorgeous design was lifted from Becca Feeken who made an amazing tutorial using a Spellbinder diecut.  Her post is here.  She is an amazingly talented woman!  I am so happy that I discovered her blog a couple of months ago.

As soon as I saw Becca's video tutorial, I knew that I wanted to make something similar using one of the ornament shapes on the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  This shape is 3".  By turning the mat around, 9 shapes will fit on one page.

12 x 12 Cricut mat with ornaments cut from retired B & T paper
Becca made a glue dot template and therefore I knew I needed to copy that step with my shape as well.  I used a scrap from the Cricut cut and guessed about where to place the dots.  It worked!

Gluedot placement for Ornament1 using Art Philosophy cartridge

The design is listed on page 33 in the Cricut guide book that comes with the cartridge.  Two 12 x 12 sheets of paper were used to cut 18 identical shapes.

Two buttons were sewn onto ribbon from the CTMH  Bling Assortment
The ribbon matches the retired Evensong B & T paper.  Any color of two-sided thin paper would work beautifully.  I am trying to use up my stash of papers and ribbons, so that is why I chose this patterned paper. The new CTMH paper is too thick for this type of ornament.  I'm making some other ornaments out of cardstock that I'll post soon.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  Have a great day!

Lots of Texture with Canvas Resist and Edge Puncher Rosette

CTMH Backgrounds and Borders stamped onto Sticky Back Canvas

This card was inspired by The Sweet Stop Sketch 125.  I wanted to use a new (to me) technique that I just learned from an online class with Jennifer McGuire.  I've always loved using fabric in stamping and was very disappointed when Close To My Heart discontinued selling their twill and linen adhesive backed fabric.  The stuff I used on this card is Claudine Hellmuth's White Sticky Back Canvas (12" by 12".) It is available at many scrapbooking stores. This fun technique is easy to do and gives a beautiful, very textural  effect.
Of course, I used an edger punch to make the rosette.  This is a new one that I haven't posted yet.
Fiskars Diamond Border Punch with Paper Rosette
This rosette was made with two 12 inch strips of CTMH Wonderland paper.  One was 1 inch wide, the other 1 1/2 inches wide.  After scoring and folding the paper strips, I adhered them as one flower. See the photo below.
Double layer paper rosette made into one flower
The rosette was embellished with part of a fancy brad set from Hobby Lobby.  I took the brad out and covered over the hole with a CTMH Blue Sparkle instead.

Love that sparkle!

Close up view of the canvas, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accent border and rosette
I used a few bits and pieces of some Spellbinder die cuts that I had left over from other projects.  These were embellished with CTMH Pearl Adhesive Gems.

The sentiment was stamped with Crystal Blue ink and  popped up with foam tape
The seam tape ribbon was colored with Breeze Recollections Chalk ink.  This is the same ink used on the canvas after embossing.  I painted it with Tattered Angels Glam paint.  Which removed almost all the color!  So when it was dry I re-inked the canvas.  A good learning process. :-)

This card is my entry for playing along with the following challenges:

Card Box with Wonderland B & T for Die Cuts Storage And New Product Blog Hop

You know how you think you want to use a particular image that you've already cut, stamped or colored in some way and then you Don't end up using it in your project?  Well, I have a bunch of little gems like that in piles all over my work area.  You can see some letters (in the picture below) just wanting a home.  I decided to turn the new CTMH My Creations Card Box into a pretty storage box to sit on my desk to house all those little orphan pieces until I can use them on a card or other project.

This is what the box looked like beforehand.  Here are some of the papers and other supplies that will be used.

Here is Spring Iris reinker waiting to be mixed with CTMH's Create a Shade Pearl Paint.

I'm all about re-using whatever I can, so I save the plastic containers that Tombox refills come in and then use them for painting, etc.

All the pieces of paper are cut and will be sponge distressed using Crystal Blue ink.  I label whatever I can, so that I can find what I need fairly quickly.  The card box is in the background after I painted it with the newly mixed pearl paint colors.

I also painted some little wood blocks with white acrylic paint and glued them onto the bottom of the box.  This is the back of the box with a piece of Crystal Blue card stock stamped in White Daisy Pigment Ink and embossed with Clear Detail Powder.  The image is from the Universal Backgrounds set (D1477).

The sides are both the same with some pewter embellishments.

This is the front foot with a small butterfly from the Fill In the Blank Stamp set.  On the top of the box are the bird and larger butterfly stamped from the same set.

The inside of the box is painted with the Spring Iris/Pearl Paint mixture.  It turned a different shade on the surface of the inside walls of the box which gave it a cool two-tone effect.  The box is beginning to get filled up with lots of fun things for future projects!

Here is the top of the box with a paper rosette made from the same paper pack.  The button on the bow is from the new Bling Assortment.   The Sparkles on the butterflies come from the Blue and Green Assortment.
