Frosted Designs Final Card Sketch Challenge

This last year has been a great one for me in regards to my papercrafting.  I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of an amazing group of women who make up the Frosted Designs Card Sketch Challenge Team.  All good things must come to an end, so the saying goes...  This will be our last card sketch challenge.  Heather created another fabulous sketch for us to follow.   I hope you are inspired by it to play along with us this final time! Please link up your card on Frosted Designs website here.

Card Sketch by Heather Adams
This time around, I stayed very true to the sketch.  Heather's sketch makes a beautiful clean and simple card or if you rough it up a bit, like I did, you can make it shabby chic. The fun thing about sketches is that you can do anything you want to make it your own!  I love to see how people interpret the sketches and put their own twist on things.  Have fun with it!  Don't forget to link your card up at Frosted Designs.

Thank you for visiting today!

Two Cards - One Feminine and One Very Rugged

Transparency Overlay on Colonial White Cardstock Base
The two cards I have posted are very different from each other.  The first has  lace, ribbon and a flower along with a pretty overlay background.  The second one almost looks like something from a camping trip into the wilderness.
Stamped Images are from CTMH  Key Moments Stamp Set
Both of these were fairly quick to make.  Mainly because  a lot of the components were already done.  On the first card, the diecuts were leftovers from a different project.  The felt frame is a purchased embellishment from a CTMH collection. And the lace is ancient from my stash. On the bottom card I embossed the woodgrain Texture Fade onto Barn Red cardstock - which was leftover from yesterday's card.  The cork embellishments, bakers twine, Durable Studs and bottle caps all come from CTMH.
Image from CTMH  Blue Ribbon set stamped on Evergreen Cork Shape ticket
I love the bottle cap peeking out (like litter) from behind the top 'wood' layer on this card.  This card will go in  my stash so that I can have one at the ready for dh, when I need one.

Have a fabulous day!
Hugs,
Beverly

Halloween Purse (or I Always Like To Have Candy In My Purse)

Wooden purse covered with CTMH Mischief B & T

After I decided to turn it into a Halloween Candy dish
The "Before" picture
This cute little wood purse came from Michael's.  It was about $3 or $4 in the clearance section.

The "During" picture
The entire purse was painted with glossy black acrylic paint after removing all the hardware, except the hinges.

I colored the hardware with a black Copic marker to dull the brass
All of the paper was adhered with PVA bookbinding adhesive.  It seems to work really well without bubbling as sometimes happens with other adhesives.

I'm beginning to think "candy dish" instead of purse
The inside paper is a retired paper from CTMH.  I love how it looks inside things. A couple of years ago I used it to line paper coffins. Click here to see that post.

Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents and Fancy Tags 2 were used for the fancy cuts
The glittery tag behind the All Hallows Eve was cut using Scrapbook Adhesives 6" x 12" adhesive sheet with a Fancy Tags 2 Mega die.  I sprinkled black glitter on it after removing one side of the adhesive.  The stamped image was freehand cut and popped with foam tape.  This image fits perfectly onto a shape cut with the new CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, but I chose to cut it by hand instead.

CTMH All Hallows Eve stamp set includes the raven on candelabra as well as  8 other stamps
The red eye on the raven is from the  Red, Pink and Purple Assortment of Sparkles from CTMH.

The clock stamped image is from CTMH's Key Moments set
After stamping and ink distressing the clock, I adhered it to a (retired CTMH) page pebble.  The raven on the candelabra was placed in front of the clock with foam tape.

The black and silver flowers are made from tissue paper.
The little black organdy bow was made from ribbon in my stash.  The pleated black ribbon came from Hobby Lobby.  Nestle Crunch bars were purchased at Target. :-)  They will be consumed by dh because they are his favorite candy bar. And it is how I get him interested in my work. ;-)

Wonderland B & T with Key Moments Stamp Set

The new Wonderland paper from CTMH is a set of wintery blues with a bit of Chocolate, Grey Flannel, and Spring Iris mixed in.  I wanted to make a non-wintery card with these papers to show their versatility.  And I live in the desert, so winter themed things aren't usually very popular here.  :-)
